We've recently added the ability to upload via Globus as an external tool (thanks to work from Borealis and @qqmyers).

We've also had historic requests for box support, google drive support, etc.

So we should review how globus is added (and also file uploader, I believe) and allow for other "upload" external tools to support these in a flexible way.
