The API page (maybe else where as well?) should be updated to show the record argument to gns3server.

 --record /var/log/gns3/curl.log

This is a very helpful option and it would be helpful to make this more clear. Unsure how an API call would look? Enable the record option, make the changed you want to do in the gui then check the record file to see an example using curl.
