VDE (Virtual Distributed Ethernet) netio_type example?

An example of using a VDE2 plug in the man page would help. The referenced URL does not really describe what the local_sock should be. By trial and error, it appears the control_sock is the same as the location passed to --mgmt switch in the vde_switch setup command line. What should be the local_sock?
