This paper https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1755436519300325 was really good (IMO) at introducing Bayesian leaning mechanistic epi modellers to NUTS/ADVI. I think this would be a good next replication project.

It would also be a nice place to try out SciML DEProblem interface into EpiAware.
